Dear Members,

For the month of May, we are proud to host Mr Jerome Heranval, the General Manager of Chateau Durfort-Vivens, a lovely second growth estate in Margaux. Mr. Heranval will present the wines of Durfort-Vivens along with wines from other estates owned or run by Gonzague Lurton and/or his wife Claire-Villars Lurton. These include Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal and Chateau Ferriere. At this dinner, we will taste a pair of wines from each estate a decade apart to see how the wines evolve over a 10-year period. And last but not least, we will have the privilege of sampling the recently bottled 2011 vintage from these estates during the aperitif portion of the dinner.

We have paired the wines with the superb East/West Cuisine of The 2nd Floor Restaurant in the American Club. The eastern menu is in perfect harmony with authentic Asian flavors and unique contemporary presentations. The western menu is our interpretation of the Modern American Steakhouse and combines bistro ambiance with steakhouse fare. The menu consists of traditional steakhouse offerings, however re-imagined into new contemporary presentations.

We are grateful to Crystal Wines, Barriere Freres and Jerome Heranval for making this event possible. Members will have priority over guests during the first 48 hours after the sending out of this bulletin. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
