The AGM Dinner
The Conrad Centennial
 

Dear members,

In conjunction with the Society’s Annual General Meeting, I am pleased to present a not-so-random trek through the Society’s extensive cellar. This AGM dinner features wines from various parts of the world that we will be trying out for the first time. We begin with a sparkling wine from Italy followed by a unique sauvignon blanc from New Zealand. For the reds, the trek begins in France with a lovely pair of Burgundies from two different regions and vintages. The journey then heads to the Napa Valley where we feature two cabernets from the same vintage. The trek ends in Bordeaux with two vintage 2000 wines from Margaux. It will be fun and interesting to see how all of these wines are evolving.

For this event, the Conrad Centennial Hotel has created a wonderful Chinese menu to pair with the wines we are having on this journey. The evening promises to be a fantastic night of exploration and will surely create spirited conversation. I sincerely hope you will be able to join us.

I will be stepping down this year at the AGM as my term of 3 years, the maximum allowed under the society’s constitution comes to an end. During the past 3 years , the society has gone a long way in establishing itself as a premier wine society in Singapore and is in a sound footing, both in terms of membership and financially. We have received unprecedented support from wine merchants and have been proud hosts to some of the luminaries of the wine world, including just last year, Angelo Gaja and Olivier Krug. All this would not be possible without members for their loyal support and my committee for their enthusiasm and unflagging hard work . A heartfelt thanks to all for the opportunity to have served these three years as president.

The Society's AGM will commence punctually at 6.30 pm, followed by dinner at 7:30 pm. Please take this opportunity to participate in the AGM and vote in your next president.
