IWFS NATIONAL DAY DINNER 2015

Dear members

August has always been a special month for our society.

More so on this 50th year of celebration for our Nation and our society.

We celebrate this year’s National Day Dinner on 8th August at the Four Seasons Hotel.

We start our dinner with a pair of Bordeaux white wines from 2010,
Domaine de Chevalier Blanc and Chateau Fieuzal Blanc.
We then move on to a St Emilion vertical of Chateau Troplong Mondot featuring
the 2004 and 1988 vintages.
The main entree will be accompanied by two Bordeaux red wines from 1998, featuring
the chateaus of Pape Clement and Mouton Rothschild.
And we will round off the dinner with Chateau Rieussec 1975 from magnum.

We can look forward to sumptious dinner menu from Chef Giovanni Speciale.
No stranger to our members,we will experience once again his 20 years of
fine Asian culinary skills.

We will again hold our annual Charity Wine Auction. This year’s charity is

Thong Kheng Welfare Services Society.

Thong Kheng Welfare Services Society operates

1) Two Seniors Activity Centres at Queenstown and Radin Mas.Which aims to integrate

lower-income elderly persons in our neighbourhood into mainstream society by providing

social and recreational programmes and activities to enable them to lead more meaningful social lives

and to facilitate better co-ordination in the provision of community-based care and support services to the elderly.

2) A Student Care Centre at Tampines to provide school children (7 to 14 years old) with optimal guardianship and care,

so as to develop a conducive environment to physical, intellectual, emotional and social development.

3) A home to care for 116 full-time residents and 50 day-care healthy adults with intellectual disabilities with the aim

to give these people a better quality of life and to relieve the caring burden on their family members.

We are still looking for generous members to donate wines for the auction. Please contact Glenn or myself if you wish to donate wines for the auction.

Come with your cheque book and an open heart and help our fellow needy Singaporeans.
