La Rioja Alta, one of the foremost and most highly respected wineries in Rioja, Spain celebrates its 125 year anniversary and it is a fitting time to celebrate this at a dinner with Mr. Aranzabal Agudo, Chairman of La Rioja Alta .

In 1890, five families sharing their passion for wine established La Rioja Alta, S.A in Haro. That was the initial step of an ongoing pursuit of excellence in winemaking that the descendants of the founders still pursue today with the very same enthusiasm.

The winery owns more than 400 hectares of vineyards located in the most exclusive estates of La Rioja. They grow their grapes to make unique wines in a style that combines tradition in ageing and state-of-the-art technology in winemaking. This raw material together with their experience results in elegant, sophisticated, complex wines that are the greatest exponent of what great Rioja quality wines are. La Rioja Alta, S.A. only produces red wines: Viña Alberdi, Viña Arana, Viña Ardanza, Gran Reserva 904 and Gran Reserva 890. We are fortunate to be trying most of these wines at the dinner.

The dinner will be held at Alma by Juan Amador. Born in 1968, Juan Amador is a Swabian of Spanish descent who belongs to the European avant-garde and is one of the best chefs in the world. He is one of the few chefs to be awarded three Michelin stars in quick succession. Alma, which is Spanish for soul is his first foray into Singapore and features Asian-influenced Spanish–European cuisine that indulges with traditional dishes and astonishes with evolutionary creations.
