Dear Members,

For the month of November, we are pleased to welcome Sebastian Fürst of the Rudolf Fürst winery to introduce the winery to members.

Situated in the westernmost corner of the Franconian wine region, framed by the low mountain ranges of Spessart and Odenwald, the Fürst Family have been making wine since 1638. Facing due south and overlooking the picturesque towns of Miltenberg and Bürgstadt the slopes of the Centgrafenberg are home to most of the vines. The Pinots and Riesling especially love the warm and iron rich soils formed by the weathering of red sandstone. The quality and structure of the wines is ensured by minimal intervention in the vineyards, reduced yields, gentle vinification and long barrel aging. They produce some of the finest examples of German Pinot Noir or spätburgunder and their wines are elegant and refined. We are fortunate to taste a wide range of their finest wines of 2014 as well as a rare Centgrafenberg Spätburgunder R 2005 sent from the cellar for this event.

We will be holding this event at the fine dining restaurant Saint Pierre, now located at One Fullerton with a wonderful view of the Marina Bay. Their talented young new executive chef, Mathieu Escoffier hails from Burgundy , France. Coming from a family of culinary masters, his parents run Ma Cuisine in the village of Beaune, a pitstop for most Singaporeans who venture to visit Burgundy. He has carefully prepared a exciting menu that will showcase the best of the Fürst wines.

We are thankful to our member Boon of Wein & Vin for bringing this event to the society.

Members will have priority over guests during the forty-eight (48) hours after the sending out of the email bulletin. Please book early to avoid disappointment as seats are limited.
