SCHLOSSGUT DIEL
IMPERIAL TREASURE FINE TEOCHEW CUISINE@ TANJONG PAGAR CENTRE

Dear Members

We are pleased to invite you to our next event to showcase the wines of Schlossgut Diel with Victor Diel at Imperial Treasure Teochew @ Tanjong Pagar Centre.

Scholossgut Diel is one of the most renowned wineries of the Nahe Region. It is a part of the historic Burg Layen and located in the center of the town.
In 1802, Peter Diel acquired Burg Layen castle and surrounding estates, and started a two hundred year success story based on wine. The estate’s 62 acres of vines have been continuously planted with Riesling and various Pinot grapes. The wines for the evening bring us across the variety of styles of the winery, from dry to sweeter Riesling styles including some stunning vintages, and a pair of Pinot Noirs.

The Goldloch is one of the finest vineyards in the Nahe region. The dry 2015 Goldloch GG, the top level of classification for dry Rieslings, will provide us with the perfect opportunity to gauge the ageing potential of this great wine. 2015 was an excellent vintage with a nice warm spring and summer, followed by a cool autumn, resulting in ripe grapes with good acidity. The 2004 vintage of Goldloch Spätlese and Goldloch Auslese will demonstrate how these wines perform after optimal ageing from a vintage that is drinking perfectly at the moment. We will also taste two different aged Auslese’s. The Burgberg is a great vineyard with a very mineral character showcased by the 20- year-old 1998 Burgberg Auslese! While the Pittermännchen Auslese Goldcap from another good vintage, 2002, should express the herbal and mineral notes of the wine. Finally, a pair of 2004 and 2013 Caroline Pinot Noirs, the red prestige cuvée of the estate using their best grapes. The ideal drinking age is 6-14 years after harvest, and this is a unique opportunity to taste these wines are the beginning and end of this drinking window.

We are very privileged to have Victor Diel, 3rd generation with us for the evening, thanks to Grand Vin for the collaboration.
To pair with the wines, we have selected a matching menu from Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew Cuisine to showcase the flavours of the food and wine. Imperial Treasure is renowned for their fine rendition of both traditional and modern styles of the Teochew cuisine, which will complement the wide range of wines we will taste that evening.

We have only 21 seats for this event and members will have the usual priority in first 48 hours. Please note that no cancellations will be possible, due to the small size of the event. Attached are the event details and we look forward to seeing you there.
