An evening at LP+ Tetsu
LP+Tetsu

Dear members,

For the month of June, the Society is proud to present an Evening at LP+Tetsu which pairs the innovative French /Japanese cuisine of one Michelin star chef Laurent Peugeot with the exquisite artisanal champagnes of Pierre Péters and the elegant red burgundies of Henri Gouges. We are grateful to Wein & Vin for making this event possible.

LP+Tetsu is contemporary French-Japanese fine dining restaurant helmed by one-Michelin-star chef, Laurent Peugeot. The menu is strongly influenced by both traditional and modern French and Japanese culinary techniques and ingredients, given a local twist with the addition of spices and the use of native produce in some of the dishes. With the innovative use of some unconventional ingredients complemented by an elegant presentation style, a meal at LP+Tetsu is a gastronomic adventure that promises to invoke all the five senses in a never-seen-before approach in Singapore.

Pierre Péters has a long history, dating back to 1858. Family home for six generations, the Pierre Péters Estate, situated in the heart of the "Côte des Blancs" in the village of Le Mesnil sur Oger has been producing Champagne Blanc de Blancs, Grand Cru, since 1919. Their wines come exclusively from their own vineyards. Currently, they operate just over 18 hectares of chardonnay, mainly located in the communes of Mesnil sur Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant. The words that best characterize most of their "blanc de blancs" vintages are probably: finesse, minerality, purity, lightness, directness, freshness and elegance. They have won many accolades.

The Henri GOUGES domain was established in Nuits Saint Georges at the very beginning of this century. Founded by Henri Gouges, it was subsequently developed by his two sons, Michel and Marcel. For the last few years, Pierre and Christian, the grandsons, have carried on the traditions of the estate. Uncompromising about quality and respectful of the typicity of the different vintages, the wines are bottled after 18 months ageing in oak-barrels, using maximum of 20% new oak in the final blending (assemblage). Over three generations, the Henri Gouges domain has had the honour of appearing on many of the most respected tables in France and across the world.

As with all our other dinners, please book early to avoid disappointment. Priority will be given to members during the first 48 hours after this bulletin is being sent out.
