The
International Wine & Food Society of Singapore |
The
International Wine & Food Society of Singapore
(IWFSS) is the oldest, largest and most active local
social group in Singapore.
On an average, the Society organizes at least one
wine event per month and we have a cumulative total
of more than 450 members and guests attending our
events over every 12 month period. The Society will
host and entertain winemakers, winery representative
and owners hailing from France, Australia and other
wine producing countries when they visited Singapore.
Every event is a memorable night of great wine,
food, fellowship and wine education. Members will
be able to enjoy a host of delectable cuisine and
wines, on top of being able to meet a wide number
of wine personalities over the years.
In terms of membership, we reached a historical
high of 192 members at the end of 2002, which increased
to 195 at the end of 2003. Currently, our membership
base stands at about 120 members.
Every year, the Cellarmaster will source for wines
and purchase them for the Society, which will be
consumed either for its own events or stored for
its valuable investment potential. All members (except
Term Members) collectively owns the wine cellar
that the Society has accumulated and maintained
through the years since its inception in 1965; a
cellar that has close to 3,000 bottles of good vintage
wines with a current day value of close to half
a million of dollars. |
